A moment of pure indulgence
Based in historic Redcliffe Quay, along side the cruise ship dock and under the shade of beautiful coconut trees is an oasis of cool – quite literally. Fred’s Belgian Waffles & Ice Cream is not only a fantastically minimalist shop fit, with some great gadgets in use, but it’s the newest and most exciting place to buy ice cream and sorbet in St. Johns.
In the centre of the shop, the fantastic ice cream and sorbet maker whirs away all day creating the most luscious tastes which quite literally melt in your mouth.
Hygiene is top priority and Cutie and Claudine have a strict programme in place to make sure that the product is produced to the highest standards possible.
All display cabinets are carefully temperature controlled to ensure that the products are stored at the correct temperature – you even get a cool bag
to take your products home with you if you are not eating them right away.
THE ICE CREAM
What can we say – chocolate chip , pistachio, macadamia nut, banana, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, papaya to name a few – but they are not all sinful. We also have low fat and diabetic vanilla ice cream. Made on site right in front of you – with fresh milk, fresh fruit, eggs and sugar – the taste is wonderfully creamy. There is also ice cream made from yoghurt.
THE SORBETS
Mango, passion fruit, pineapple, papaya…the flavours go on…..all made from 100% fruit, water and sugar – a beautifully refreshing alternative to ice cream and perfect for anyone who is lactose intolerant.

We serve fresh baked waffles for you to eat with your sorbets and ice creams, and offer a superb choice of coffees, mochas, chilled coffees, teas and soft drinks.
